Lawyers Directory — terms for advocates

These terms apply to advocates who choose to be listed in the Lawyers Directory.

1. The Lawyers Directory lists advocates who choose to be listed. It is shown only to people signed in to the VakeelMitra client portal. It is not public and is not indexed by search engines.
2. Only these details are shown: your name, firm, address, city, the phone and email you choose, enrolment number and date, State Bar Council, bar association, qualifications and areas of practice — the details Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules allows an advocate to publish.
3. VakeelMitra does not rank, rate, recommend, match or refer advocates, does not pass enquiries or client details to you, and does not charge for being listed. Listings are in alphabetical order.
4. You are responsible for the accuracy of your details and for your own compliance with the Bar Council of India Rules and your State Bar Council's directions.
5. You can update your details or remove yourself at any time from your profile. Removal takes effect immediately.
6. Your listing is hidden automatically if your bar verification lapses or is revoked, or if your firm's account is not active.
7. VakeelMitra may suspend the directory or remove a listing at any time, including to comply with a court order or Bar Council direction.
8. We keep a record of your consent (what you agreed to, when, and the details shown) as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. If these terms change, your listing is hidden until you agree to the new version.
